Interview of Nika Lomazza

Nika‍‌‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌ Lomazzo reminisces about her life as a transgender woman. This journey included coming out and transitioning while at college, living in Rhode Island, and then moving back to New York. She became very active in the community and even briefly ran for the office of state representative in Rhode Island, mainly to work toward the abolition of the trans panic defense and to support workers' rights. Her campaign was cut short by her personal struggles; however, it was a powerful experience that led to more conversations about representation and inspired others to run for office. At present, Nika is mainly engaged with comedy and writing in New York. She doesn't see her life as having a definite end after her transition but rather as a continuous journey of change and self-discovery.
