Lorenzo Van Ness discusses their early life growing up in a working-class Dominican-American family and the intersection of their queer identity with issues of class. They recount their experiences with religion and Christianity and how their spirituality has evolved over time. Lorenzo highlights the challenges faced by trans masculine individuals in LGB spaces as well as their experiences in political and Queer New York communities. Lorenzo is now an intake coordinator for the Commission on Human Rights and is passionate about the socio-economic issues facing New Yorkers, such as gentrification and rising living expenses.
