Interview of Jarrett Key

Jarrett Key is a mixed media artist based in Brooklyn who creates works that delve into themes of identity, race, and ancestry. Growing up in Alabama and surrounded by southern culture, Key draws inspiration from their grandmother, who encouraged them to explore their creativity. Along with their brother, Key moved to New York, where they became involved in the QTPOC community at Brown University. Key shares their experience working as the Producing Director at Codify Art, a Brooklyn-based art collective, as they produce art and performance projects such as ‘Hair Art.’
