Iman Le Caire is the founder of the non-profit Trans Aslyias. In this recording, Iman describes the persecution she faced as a queer child in Egypt and the challenges that followed her through and even after her move to the United States. Iman expresses deep gratitude for the communities and individuals she found in NYC including her now husband, Jean Manuel Le Caire, who inspired her to support and advocate for other trans people seeking asylum in the US, as well as supporting their work in Fire Island.
