← Interview of Bernie Wagenblast
Lifetime New Jersey resident Bernie came up in a quaint middle-class childhood. She didn't feel it was an especially religious upbringing but still found a role in the Lutheran Church, religion becoming big in her life. In this interview, Bernie talks about the early social pushback of coming to terms with her trans identity and realizing who she was early in life. Nowadays, Bernie is a transportation journalist with an extensive background in radio work. She continues to run a daily Transportation Communication Newsletter that is older than Google. Bernie went to Seton Hall University since it was a Catholic school and had a proper radio station. She always appreciated radio stations and how they entertain and provide information. If you have ever taken the NY subway Bernie is the voice saying, “Please stand away from theplatform edge.” For her work she has aptly been dubbed The Voice of the Subway.
